Couple's Therapy

Working together to learn new ways to communicate

Relationships can get stuck in a "dance" where you know each other's emotions and behaviors so well communication stops. I often hear "I know what he/she is going to say, so why bother." Therapy is focused on understanding your defenses and learning to lower your emotional reactions.
How many times do you think the other person doesn't understand you or isn't listening. When you're in conflict, the language part of your brain shuts down.
Together, you learn coping skills so you can talk and listen to each other. Here's the thing; you don't need to agree but are willing to compromise.

Individual Therapy

My therapeutic style is centered in providing empathy, understanding, and collaboration to find the coping techniques that work best for you. Together, we will explore the underlying factors that heighten the issues of anxiety, depression, and trauma. These issues affect you in many ways both in relationships to others and yourself. The negative voice, ruminating thoughts, low self-esteem, and depression are unrelenting. Therapy is where you can share in a safe space without feeling judged.
I am committed to finding the most effective techniques to help you navigate through your challenges and develop insight into your thoughts and emotions. The goal is to empower you to create a healthy version of your story. When you know who you are with acceptance and grace you will improve your self-esteem and quality of life.

Exceeding Expectations One Client at a Time

My sessions are telehealth and are for Connecticut residents only. At the top of my page is a poem by Rumi and I think it’s the perfect message for therapy-letting go of who or what is right or wrong. Other phrases to let go include “I should, you always, you never, I need to.” As your therapist I attempt to reframe absolute thinking and introduce a middle ground. I respect how making the call and sharing your struggles takes courage and this is the first step in creating your new story.

I work through HIPAA protected telehealth. You must be a Connecticut resident and are currently in Connecticut at the time of the session. I do accept Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare insurance. I offer a sliding scale.
