Mike helped my husband and I understand we weren't really listening to each other. We were waiting for the other to stop taking so we could continue to tell them why we were right.
This was my first time in therapy; after a few sessions, I discovered it was long overdue. Mike gave me the tools to be aware when my anxiety was taking over and learn coping skills to ease my anxiety.
I was always hard on myself; I never gave myself a break. I felt accepted by Mike. We talked about events in my life without labelling them as good or bad. This helped me to stop judging myself so harshly. I learned to breathe.
